DG July letter

Fellow D7230 Rotarians:

My first Newsletter to my Rotarian friends.  Hope that you are managing the tropical weather with ease and comfort!
 
Congratulations to all the newcomers to District & Club commitments, we have just begun!
 
Let us surround ourselves with eager plans to inject more energy into increasing our Membership, Humanitarian projects and taking the public’s interest to a higher level by informing them of how much your club has contributed to making a better world.
 
I hope that you will relay to me your thoughts about Rotary particularly Membership.  My availability is anytime……Rotary is my life at the moment, held without bail at home until September surgery !
 
District Membership Chair Amir Asadi (Bronx) will be paying the Clubs a visit very soon.
 
There are many social events planned and in the making, so please let Cecily Smith  have them for our District  Events Calendar …
 
District Tech Director Mahbub Ahmad (Yonkers) has a great ClubRunner District Website 9rotary7230.org) make over in progress.  Keep checking and if you would like to see more info, let’s talk about it, we both are available and we respond ALMOST IMMEDIATELY!
 
The Annual On to Bermuda and District Conference will be held in Bermuda October 25-29, 2017…..early I know but the On to Bermuda visitors can enjoy the District Conference.  Scheduled are many activities including a Beach Project for the District Conference. Please check the District Website for details of this event and please book your air fare and accommodation asap. 
 
District Foundation Chair Taylor Eskew (Chinatown) eagerly volunteered this information - 11 DDF Grants have been completed (year 16/17) , 10 being awarded in the U.S and one in Haiti.
 
DDF applications are open to you now for Year 17-18. Details will follow this Newsletter in a couple of days.  Get your Club’s brain galvanized and get working on how to use your EREY contributions.
 
4 Rotary Foundation Sub Committee Scholars approved by District..awaiting RI approval before details released.
 
You need to know more about the Gift of Life, another amazing program with a heart.  Details will soon be on our District Website.  You could use a DDF for this program , if you wish.
