MARCH 2017 UPDATE

OUR DISTRICT

We are three quarters of the way through the Rotary Year and there is a lot of excitement and energy. The outgoing district and club officers are all enjoying the final planning and execution of duties and events and the incoming officers are excited about thinking outside the box on new possibilities.  All the Incoming Assistant Governors and Presidents attended the Mid Northeast Multi-District Training in Hanover , NJ last weekend and the evaluations on the slate of speakers/presentations indicated excellent ratings on most things.

Our 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.
