OUR DISTRICT

Two months into the year and a busy Summer with planning, meetings, fundraisers and community projects!

During the weekend of August 12-14, five District Rotarians and their non-Rotarian partners participated in the multi-district 5+5 Young Professionals Summit, funded by a RI grant.   Metro NYC PP Cecily Smith was instrumental in her vision, planning and execution in making this happen and in writing the summary article for the September Beyond Borders Zone 24/32 newsletter: http://portal.clubrunner.ca/50077/ and click on image on left to enlarge.

The District website Rotary7230.org and District Directory will be updated in September but remember the info is only as good as the club and member info that you all enter. If you need assistance to update your info, sync your club or member info. with the District website and  Rotary.org , please call Club Runner (1-877-469-2582), our District Website vendor.

AG / DG Visits - The Assistant Governors have been visiting clubs and certain areas have scheduled the multi-club District Governor visits in October, November and December.

Lora Hugelmeyer, District Governor 2016-17

Our 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.
