OCTOBER 2016 UPDATE

OUR DISTRICT

Many, many thanks for all the thoughts and support that were sent to me during my mom's illness and passing. Family is a huge priority and I really appreciate you all being close by and comforting! Jenny could make everyone laugh and for those with that gift, please share it.  It is also an important part of Rotary, in addition to all the good we do.

October ended with a group of 30 New York Rotarians going ON TO BERMUDA 2016.  We enjoyed the fellowship, the warm temperatures and a great series of events hosted by Bermuda's four clubs in Area 7 headed by AG Barrett Dill.  I was proud to represent the District and Bermuda when meeting with the Premier, the Mayor and Her Excellency and was taken aback by the Monte Carlo Casino Night with over 200 attendees.

Photo is from Nature walk in Bermuda. We were laughing that Assistant Governor - Area 4 - Mary Ciamarra can go on a walk in NYC or in a Bermuda Nature Reserve dressed the same way. She did not even need hiking sneakers to climb the limestone cliffs, click on image to enlarge.

Please send photos to Cecily so she can continue to post events and also add to the album for "On To Bermuda 2016" on the District Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/rotary7230 Send email with info to: rotary7230pr@gmail.com

The other District Area Visits are scheduled for November and December.

Our 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.
