In what is just one of the companies diverse business segmantes, Con Edison of New York provides electric service to approximately 3.3 million customers and gas service to approximately 1.1 million customers in New York City and Westchester County. Club Meeting 2 - Jeffrey A. Friedman, Executive Director, The Retreat The Retreat’s (www.theretreatinc.org) mission is to provide safety, shelter and support for victims of domestic abuse and to break the cycle of family violence. In pursuit of its mission, The Retreat annually provides help for thousands of families. The organization provides numerous services to protect victims, provide safety and help them get back on their feet and live productive lives. In 2011 alone, The Shelter served 70 women and 64 children. The Counseling program served 310 clients (including children). The Retreat provided 5,932 services of information, referrals, and personal advocacy to 473 clients – and provided support, information, and referrals to 3,162 hotline callers.
