Charlie joined the Rotary Club of Peekskill in February of 1999. He has
served his club in a variety of different capacities including Annual Horse
Show Chairman, the Alf Spears Committee, and the Educational Grants
Committee. He has participated in the Rotary Club of Peekskill Adopt a Class
program. He has served on a number of District committees, including chair
of the District 7230 Scholarship committee. He was Assistant Governor for
Area 1 when he was elected to be District Governor Nominee.
He served as Club president in 2002-2003 and as a member of the Board of
Directors. Charlie was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow Award by his club in
2003. He is also a member of the International Fellowship of Yachting
Rotarians and the International fellowship of Rotarian Scuba Divers.
He retired as a Lieutenant from the White Plains Fire Department in 1997
after serving 20 years. During that time, he returned to college and
received a Bachelors degree in Fire Science, a Masters in Human Resource
Management and a Doctorate in Management with a specialization in
Environmental Health and Safety. Upon retiring from the Fire Department, he
accepted a position as the Dean of the Mercy College Yorktown Campus and
program Director for the Environmental Health and Safety program for eight
years.
Charlie, who holds a United States Coast Guard Masters license, is
currently the President/CEO of Oceanis Marine Services Inc, a yacht survey
and consulting company; and Angels’ Grace Sailing Charters, a sailing
charter business on Long Island Sound. He is a certified Scuba Schools
International Dive Control Specialist Instructor qualified to teach both
basic and advanced scuba classes.
Charlie and his wife Linda live in Carmel, NY and have seven children and
two grandchildren.
