Matts Ingemanson

 

Matts Ingemanson became a Rotarian in 1998 by joining the Rotary Club of New York, where he served as Internet Communications Officer 2000-2004. He later transferred to the Rotary Club of Yonkers, where he served as President 2009-2011.

Matts has served at the Rotary district level as Chairman of the Group Study Exchange Committee 2002-2004 as well as District Secretary 2005-2006 and 2009-2010.

Matts served on the international level as Founding Member, Vice Chairman 2001-2003 and Chairman 2004-2006 of Rotary Global History Fellowship.

Matts is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow.

Matts came to America from Sweden in 1981 with a grant from the Swedish Government to develop a personal computer in Berkeley, California. He operated a computer business in the infant computer industry together with many of its pioneers.

Matts is a naturalized U.S. citizen since 1995.

His international business experience includes business with Asia (including South Korea, North Korea, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan), the former Soviet Union (including Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan) and many countries in Europe, working with business, technology, patents and international law in many diverse cultures.

Matts started a Real Estate Development business in Sweden 2009 to build prefabricated residential homes and is planning the start of a similar business in America,

Matts lives in New York City and is married since 1987 to Sundra, artist and retired Art Teacher, Arts Coordinator. Their son Morris graduated from Hunter College High School 2005, Hunter College 2009 and has been accepted to University at Buffalo Law School 2011.
