On Jan 23, Briarcliff Manor Rotary hosted speaker Marion Anderson, Exec. Dir. of Heartsong. Heartsong uses music and the other arts to help children with Autism & Down's Syndrome and the elderly with debilitating ailments. The presentation was so inspirational that Briarcliff Manor Rotary presented a donation check on the spot.

Hello All -

In case you missed the meeting today (Jan 23), the Briarcliff Rotary Club did an amazing thing!!!

The Executive Director of Heartsong, Marion Anderson, was our speaker…She talked about her wonderful organization, which incidentally was started with seed money from the Bronxville Rotary Club in 1992…Heartsong’s Mission Statement is “to provide clinically-based therapeutic, educational and rehabilitative creative arts programs that seek to enhance the functioning level and quality of life of individuals with special needs”…Put another way, they use music and other arts to help children with Autism, Down’s Syndrome, and other diagnoses; and also the elderly who have mild dementia, early onset Alzheimer’s, and other debilitating ailments.

You can read about the organization right here: www.heartsong.org

And see a great video right here: CLICK

Marion’s talk, along with the video she shared, was inspirational and moving . . . So much so, that the Briarcliff Rotary Club and Board, on the spot, presented Heartsong with a $1000 check, which will allow one child to stay in the program for an entire semester!!! Founding member Ernie Pacchiana does not ever remember something like this happening at a regular meeting, and I believe that all that were able to attend today were absolutely thrilled we could do this for Heartsong!!!

So, CONGRATULATIONS to all of you!!! You did an incredible thing today!!!

Warmest Regards,

Eric
