The District's newest Club - the Rotary e-Club of Sunshine, New York officially came into existence through the approval of its charter by Rotary International on 22nd November 2021.  It is the district's 49th Club and has 20 members most of whom are professionals in their respective fields or run their own businesses.
Established through the tireless efforts of Assistant Governor, Bina Ahmad, who is the club's Charter President, the Club has already made its mark - by undertaking 2 international projects - the first was arranging the donation of a minivan to the Rotary Club of Hamilton, Bermuda for use by a local Child Welfare Organization which works with children affected by gun violence.  The second was the donation of a computer and 3 electric sewing machines to a girls' orphanage in Bangladesh.

The addition of this new club has boosted the district's membership roll, which has shown a modest increase since the beginning of this Rotary Year.

Club President Bina said that although the Club is yet to hold its official Charter ceremony, primarily because of the pandemic, she expects to organize a modest ceremony in the very near future.. She also said the two international projects were the result of amazing Rotary partnerships, which she hopes will be replicated.  She also said the new Club will be working on projects for the local community as well.  She thanked District Governor George McKinnis and the District leadership team for assisting new Clubs through the rebate of District dues for the first 2 years, which will greatly help the club build a solid foundation.  The Club has already established a strong online presence through its website sunshinenyrotary.club and Facebook page at fb.me/sunshinenyrotary.
