DGN Abit Ragbeer
Abit Ragbeer was born and raised in Linden, Guyana, where her commitment to service and leadership began at an early age. Her Rotary journey started through Rotaract, where she quickly became actively involved in club leadership and community development initiatives, establishing a lifelong dedication to Service Above Self.
Over the past 20 years, she has served in multiple leadership capacities across Rotaract and Rotary, including club president, district liaison officer, district Rotaract representative, charter Rotaract president, charter Rotary club president, and assistant district governor. She has also contributed at the district level through committee service in public image, ethics, and dispute resolution, and has supported leadership development and membership growth initiatives.
Among her notable achievements are organizing a multi-day district Rotaract conference, receiving recognition as best district liaison officer, chartering the Rotaract Club of Manhattan NYC, and later founding the Rotary E-Club of Vision NYC. She has also served at the zone level as an assistant Rotary membership coordinator-Rotaract lead, advocating for stronger Rotary-Rotaract collaboration and youth leadership development.
Professionally, Abit's background spans education, program management, project management, public sector coordination, and workforce development. She holds a diploma in project management with honors and has led community and infrastructure projects impacting multiple communities. She currently works as an employment specialist, supporting vulnerable populations through job readiness and workforce reintegration services.
Known for her collaborative leadership style, integrity, and empathy, Abit is committed to building strong partnerships, developing leaders, and advancing sustainable service initiatives. She continues to champion unity between Rotary and Rotaract as a pathway to long-term organizational strength and community impact.
