On Sunday, November 1, 2026, the Rotary Club of Promise NY, District 7230, demonstrated the true spirit of Service Above Self through a winter clothing distribution project serving a community where warm clothing is greatly needed.
From 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., club members worked together to distribute winter clothing to members of the community. They were joined by their Area Governor Makfia Zaman, deputy governor for areas, PDG Mahbub, the District Executive Secretary (DES), and representatives from sister Rotary clubs, making the project a wonderful example of Rotary collaboration and support.

Under the leadership of Club President Fahima Amin, the Promise NY team planned and executed the project beautifully. The dedication and teamwork of the club members helped make the afternoon of service both meaningful and successful. The active support of the Cityline Ozone Park Civilian Patrol (COPCP) - a local volunteer Organization was indispensable in maintaining order during the entire distribution.
But the spirit of Rotary did not end when the distribution concluded. Following the project, President Fahima graciously invited the Rotarians to her home, where she welcomed everyone with a sumptuous lunch of home-cooked dishes. Her generous hospitality added a special touch to an already memorable day and gave Rotarians a chance to relax, connect, and enjoy fellowship after serving together.
It was a beautiful reminder of what makes Rotary special: serving those in need, supporting one another, strengthening friendships, and building fellowship through service.
Congratulations to President Fahima Amin and the entire Rotary Club of Promise NY team on a meaningful winter clothing distribution project, and heartfelt thanks to all the Rotarians and sister clubs who joined hands to make a difference.
This is Rotary: Service with compassion, fellowship with friendship and people coming together to create lasting impact.
